We offer ten tastefully decorated guest bedrooms, a combination of king, double, twin bedded or single room. All rooms have en-suite facilities, television and refreshment tray. All rooms are strictly non-smoking. Dogs are welcome in some of our rooms, please mention when booking if you intend to bring your dog.


To help your stay we can also offer free car parking, secure bike storage, packed lunches, drying facilities and early breakfast by prior arrangement. If you have any other special requests let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Children - Children under the age of two sharing with adult are free of charge. Children aged two to fourteen £20.00 per night if sharing with adults. Young People aged fifteen and above will be charged full prices.

Dogs - Dogs are welcome in our Standard Rooms at a rate of £10.00 per dog per night with a maximum of two dogs per room. Please note that dogs are not permitted in the Bar or Restaurant during Food Service Times.

Smoking: all our rooms are strictly non~smoking. Smoking is permitted outside of the building.

Once a booking has been made a non-refundable deposit of £20.00 per adult is required to guarantee your reservation.

Facilities & Services

Packed Lunches: available on request (please order the night before if possible) at a price of £8.00 each. The lunch consists of a sandwich of your choice, packet of crisps, bar of chocolate, piece of fruit and a bottle of water. Please note that if you require just sandwiches we can organise this and the price will be adjusted accordingly.

Flasks: we will happily fill flasks for you, tea, coffee and hot water are complimentary but we do make a small charge for hot chocolate. Anyone wishing to add a spirit or liqueur to their drink are welcome to do so, these will be charged for at the usual bar prices.

Smoking: all our rooms are strictly non~smoking. Smoking is permitted outside of the building.

Dogs: we welcome dogs at the Oak but ask that you refrain from letting them climb on the furniture in the rooms or bar. Dogs are allowed in the bar area with the exception of food service times. (12.00noon – 2.00pm and 6.00pm – 9.00pm)

Iron & Ironing Board: We have an iron and ironing board available. If you wish to borrow this please ask behind the bar and we will deliver it to your room. When you have finished we kindly ask that you leave them outside of your room for us to collect.

Hairdryers: You will find a hairdryer located in a bag in your wardrobe.

Don’t Forget Your Toothbrush!!: If you have don’t worry we have a supply of toothbrushes & paste, just ask us and we will provide you with one.

Drying Facilities: Should you become a victim of the Lake District famous weather while you are out, upon your return leave your wet coats and boots with us and we will place them in the drying room for you. Please note it usually takes overnight to get boots dry but coats and jackets will usually dry out in a few hours.

Bicycle Storage: If you need a secure place to store your bike let us know and we will arrange this for you.

Maps and Walk Guides: We have a selection of maps and books available behind the bar. If you wish to borrow these you are most welcome but please return them for the benefit of future guests.
